L. Rush Art & Design
Hello friend.
I'm Lindsey Rush Hawkins - artist, instructional designer, and educator with a background spanning higher education and consulting.
Over the years, I've become known for designing and facilitating workshops, guest lectures, and coaching sessions that combine creative thinking with practical frameworks to lift individuals and teams to their next level. My work is shaped by years of teaching, advising organizations, and building learning experiences that support clarity, confidence, and meaningful growth.
My path has never been linear.
My professional path has never been linear, and that’s by design.
I began my career as a visual artist and designer, trained in both traditional fine art and applied design disciplines. Painting remains a grounding practice, influencing how I think about iteration, revision, and meaning. Alongside my studio work, I spent many years in higher education teaching art, design, and visual communication, where I developed a deep understanding of how people learn, adapt, and grow.
As my work evolved, I moved into instructional design, user experience, and consulting, partnering with organizations to improve learning systems, communication, and change management. That work eventually led me to entrepreneurship: building and leading my own consulting practice, shaping services, and designing experiences from the ground up.
Hard Knocks of an Entrepreneur
As an entrepreneur, I’ve built and led a consulting business focused on learning, content, and organizational change. This role has deepened my perspective on leadership, adaptability, and decision-making, especially in environments where expectations shift quickly and resources are constrained.
Entrepreneurship has sharpened my ability to translate theory into practice. It informs how I design workshops, how I coach individuals through transition, and how I speak about growth, resilience, and reframing mindset. I don’t approach this work from a purely academic lens; I approach it as someone who has built, tested, revised, and learned in real time.
